Event:

Date: Wednesday November 16th

Time: 8pm

Old Buckenham is very proud to be involved in the Run in the Dark and this year’s pop-up run will be championed by Chris Clarke, from Belfast, who lives in Old Buckenham.

About Run In The Dark

As darkness falls on Wednesday the 16th of November 2016 and as people settle down in front of their televisions, thousands of others will pull on their running shoes and red flashing armbands and head for the door. In over 50 cities worldwide they will be part of a living light show flowing through the streets like lava. There are 5 official locations - Dublin, Cork, Belfast, London and Manchester and pop-up events led by volunteers in cities worldwide. And as 8pm sweeps around the globe, like watching New Year’s Eve, 5 km and 10 km runs will unite a community of people helping to fast-track a cure for paralysis.

Check out how your participation in Run In The Dark will help by listening to our short radio documentary about the story and science behind the Trust's mission to fast track a cure for paralysis.

The Route:

The start and finish line will be located outside the Ox and plough Pub.  The 5km route will go past the Old Buckenham Windmill, through the village of Stacksford, along Fen Street and then back to the Ox and Plough Pub . Those wishing to complete 10km may loop around once more.

After the race has finished all runners are encouraged to reunite at the Ox and Plough pub for the obligatory Irish night cap and of course to raise a toast to Mark Pollock.

Whether you are completing the 5km run or 10km run, please aim to arrive at 19.30 (7.30pm) so that we can ensure everyone will receive their flashing armband and buff and have a group photo before we go running!
