10k and 5k Manchester Run in the Dark - 16th November 2016

Join The Mark Pollock Trust and thousands of fellow runners in Manchester on the 16th November and support our ongoing research to find a cure for spinal cord injury by taking part in this night run. Take part in this unique multi location event and run in the dark for 5k or 10k. If your trainers are a little dusty you can even walk the route. Everyone who takes part on the night will be playing a big part in finding a cure for spinal cord injury.  The Manchester event will leave from Media City Piazza, Salford Quays at 8.00pm on the 16th  November.

Runners of Run in the Dark Manchester are strongly recommended to use the NCP MediaCityUK car park, accessed via Broadway. Directions to the car park will be signed in the local area. The 50 bus route and the Metrolink to Eccles or MediaCityUK can also be used to travel to the start. Metrolink users should alight at MediaCityUK or Harbour City.

A staffed bag drop area is provided at the Open Centre at MediaCityUK piazza. Please bear in mind that if you deposit any baggage in this area it is entirely at your own risk. Do not leave any valuables in this area. No bags will be accepted after 7:45pm.

Please note that the start time of the night run is 8pm and it is imperative that the event starts at this time. Please ensure you are at the start line for 7:45pm. The start line is located in the north-west corner of the MediaCity UK piazza and will be signposted accordingly.

There will be toilets and a first aid point in the Open Centre. There will also be an information point for any last minute queries. There are no changing facilities available at the event, so please come ready to run.

You will receive a goody bag on completion of the run.

No water will be provided on the route due to safety concerns of low visibility. Please bring water with you if you require it on the route. Water will be provided at the Run in the Dark finish. Red Bull will also be provided. The Dock Bar, Costa coffee and Feed Café in the Open Centre will all be open during the evening, selling hot and cold beverages as well as light snacks.

The organisers strongly advise against the use of ipods, earphones or any similar device while participating in the Run in the Dark, as it may restrict your hearing of important instructions and communication with other participants.
