Tips for runners:
Training plan
First things first, get a training plan. Build that plan and most importantly stick to it over the course of the next couple of weeks.
Race day plan
Tip number two is to build a race day plan for the actual event, so kilometre splits or mile splits (time that it takes to complete a specific distance in running) and try and stick to that. Start slow and build up your pace as you go along getting stronger and stronger as the event goes on.
Usual gear
This tip is for the race day itself. Never race or run in anything new, so no new runners or socks or gear! Always run and race in things that you’ve trained in. It’s important for comfort and also to reduce the risk of blisters, too.
And last but not least – have fun and smile all the way through!
Why not go run a 5k or 10k race at Run in the Dark on 13th November 2019? You now know how to prepare for it, so what’s stopping you?
